United States: A Nation in Peril

If you follow the news – and it's rather difficult to avoid – you’ve probably noticed that the American president is shaking up the world. He imposes his own trade rules, decides the future of Gaza, and negotiates peace in Ukraine with Putin, whom he greatly admires, disregarding President Zelensky. He even goes so far as to turn his back on his own country's laws and Supreme Court rulings.

The far right has been on the rise for several years, but no one expected to see this specter emerge in America, the land of democracy. If you revisit history or watch a few insightful reports, you’ll see that this president is following the same path as Hitler (and we know where that led) and Putin. Hitler had Goebbels, his propaganda chief; Trump has Musk.

I am neither alarmist nor conspiratorial, BUT let’s stay vigilant before it’s too late.

HOW TO KILL DEMOCRACY

Rule 1Undermine the credibility of the media so that the public rejects the very concept of truth.

Rule 2Polarize society, dehumanize the opposing side, and disregard human rights when they become an obstacle.

Rule 3Marginalize intellectual elites, because if no one listens to experts anymore, people become easily manipulated.

Rule 4Elect candidates under the pretext of restoring order...
